A gentle but strengthening and grounding class to heal and soothe, releasing stress and tension, to leave us feeling energised and refreshed. The Sun (Ha) is in airy Libra, the sign of the scales, when we focus on balancing our energy. The Moon (Tha) starts off in Taurus, ruling the neck, throat, tongue, lower jaw, chin, the tonsils, vocal cords, larynx, the ears and the thyroid. The Moon then moves into Gemini, ruling the shoulders, arms, hands, lungs, central nervous system and the nerves. Lastly, the Moon finishes the week in Cancer, ruling the feminine, nurturing areas of the stomach, womb, breasts, breastbone and the digestive system.
We may have more headaches during the build-up to the Aries full moon and suffer more fatigue. So, we will work to combat this with a relaxing but invigorating and strengthening class to heal, ground and balance, so releasing stress and tension, to leave us feeling energised and secure. The Sun (Ha) is in airy Libra, the sign of the scales, when we focus on balancing our energy. The Moon (Tha) starts off very briefly in earthy Capricorn. We can feel our emotions here, and either bend too easily or can't bend to others. Next the Moon moves into airy Aquarius, ruling the circulatory system, pumping the blood (or love) from the heart around the body (or the world). Then the Moon then moves into watery Pisces, ruling the feet, helping us to feel grounded, when we might feel quite ungrounded. The Moon (Tha) finishes in Aries for the Aries full moon, ruling the head, brain, eyes, the muscles and so the mind. When we are relaxed in our mind we are relaxed in our body and vice versa.
A gentle, relaxing but deep class to heal, soothe, ground and balance, so releasing stress and tension, to leave us feeling energised and refreshed. The Sun (Ha) is in airy Libra, the sign of the scales, when we focus on balancing the energy in the adrenal glands and the kidneys, releasing fear and unreleased cortisol. The Moon (Tha) starts off in airy Libra, ready for the Libra New Moon, which is about balancing emotional energy. The Moon then moves into Scorpio when we focus on the hidden areas we don't want to talk about. Shining a light on these areas to bring out hidden emotions and so transform. The Moon finishes in Sagittarius ruling the thighs and femur, giving us structure and power to move forward.
A gentle, relaxing class to heal, soothe, ground and balance, so releasing stress and tension, to leave us feeling energised. The Sun (Ha) is in airy Libra, the sign of the scales, when we focus on balancing the energy in the adrenal glands and the kidneys, releasing fear and unreleased cortisol. The Moon then goes into Leo, ruling the spine, heart, upper back and spleen. The moon then finishes in earthy Virgo, focusing on soothing of the sympathetic nervous system with the breath.
A relaxing but invigorating and strengthening class to heal, ground and balance, so releasing stress and tension, to leave us feeling energised and secure. The Sun (Ha) moves into Libra exactly at the point of the autumnal equinox. Libra is about balance and at the equinox, when the days and nights are of equal length, we find our inner equilibrium to prepare us to go inwards. The Moon (Tha) is first in Aries, ruling the head, brain, and so the mind, which isn't in the head but in the whole body, corresponding to the muscles in the mind, body, spirit connection. The Moon then moves into Taurus ruling the neck that carries important information and finishes in Gemini, ruling the central nervous system.
A full session starting with lying down and connecting with the breath, easing into floor asanas, a grounded sun salutation, pranayama and asanas to extend, balance, twist, side bend and inversion. Finishing with a relaxing meditation and visualisation. Working with the adrenal glands, kidneys, lower back and balance for the Sun (Ha) in Libra and then moving into the Sun in Scorpio, a water sign that encourages us to go within and look at our deep dark, hidden areas we don't want to talk about and so bring them to the light, preparing ourselves to go within in the darker, longer days of winter. So, working with the bladder, the urinary tract, the prostate gland, the genitals, the cervix, the reproductive organs and the nose, that others can see but we can't. For the Moon (Tha) initially in Capricorn, we work with our structure, our skeletal frame that holds us together, the bones, the joints, particularly the knees. We may feel things emotionally in our bones. The Moon then moves into Aquarius bringing us to the vulnerable shins and Achilles heel, the ankles, that hold us up and support, and the circulatory system, how we pump blood (or love) from our hearts around the body (the world). Finally, the Moon moves into Pisces which rules the feet and the immune system, keeping grounded with our feet on the ground and giving ourselves a boost.
A full session of asanas working with the Sun (Ha) in Libra - clearing pent up adrenal energy from the adrenal glands, releasing fear from the kidneys, strengthening the core muscles to feel safe and secure, supporting the lower back. The Moon (Tha) in Virgo works with the sympathetic nervous system to soothe and curb the fight or flight instinct and releasing from the large and small intestines and the lower digestive tract, encouraging us to move forward. The Moon will be new in Libra, further encouraging us to find our inner balance and prepare for new beginnings. Finally, the Moon in Scorpio works with the hidden areas we don't want to look at, encouraging us to bring the corresponding feelings into the light to heal. We'll use Nadi Shodana breathing to balance and Agni Sara to cleanse, clear and strengthen. We finish with a relaxing meditation and visualisation.
A full session of asanas, starting with a relaxation to bring focus on the breath and floor work. Focus for the Sun in Libra is on the lower back (lumbar region) where we may have issues due to insecurity. We work by strengthen the core muscles in the abdomen as when we're strong in our whole being. Also, Libra rules the adrenal glands, where adrenaline and the start of the stress response come from, and the kidneys, which respond to fear. Libra also encourages us to find our inner balance, as we enter the darkness of winter. Working with the Moon in Gemini we use the shoulders, arms and hands, releasing tension and using them to help in other ways, especially in the lungs to help us breathe fully. Also, grounding and releasing from the central nervous system and the nerves. For the Moon in Cancer, its home, we work with the feminine, nurturing, watery areas (whether we're male or female) of the breasts, the stomach, the womb (if we have one), the digestive system. Gemini works with the upper ribs and Cancer the lower ribs. Then, for the Moon in Leo, we work with the heart, the spine, the spleen and the upper back. We always practise some pranayama, a balance and take the spine in all its planes of direction and finish with a relaxing meditation and visualisation.
A full session starting with a relaxing connection to the breath and the body. Working with asanas for the Sun (Ha) in Libra, finding our inner equilibrium to prepare to go inwards for the winter, balancing energy in the adrenal glands and kidneys, releasing stress and fear and strengthening the lower back to feal safe and secure. The Moon is building to be full in Aries, so we combat fatigue that can come with this, working with the head, brain, eyes and muscles, which correspond to the mind in the mind, body, spirit connection. The Moon then moves into Taurus, so we release tension from the neck and throat, plus the lower jaw, chin, larynx/vocal cords and stimulate the metabolism via the thyroid gland. We do the Nadi Shodana (alternate nostril) pranayama to find inner balance and peace and finish with a healing meditation and visualisation.
