We can release emotions that no longer works for us, by the stretching, strengthening and grounding of our practice, so allowing us the strength to move forward. The Sun (Ha) is in Capricorn, ruled by distant Saturn, and governs the structure of our skeletal frame. The skeletal frame represents our deep core spiritual beliefs that hold us together. The Moon starts in Taurus, and moves through Gemini and Cancer, finishing in Leo. Leo rules the spine, heart, upper back and spleen. We may feel things more emotionally in these parts of the body when the Moon is in our sign.
The Sun (Ha) in Sagittarius is a time for journeys, whether physically and geographically or spiritually within. When the Moon (Tha) is in a sign we are affected more emotionally: Taurus is a practically creative sign but insecure, Gemini quick, clever and mercurial but anxious, Cancer is caring but a worrier. The Sun moves into earthy, structured Capricorn at the point of the Solstice, when it 'stands' still on the Tropic of Capricorn, (Solstice means sun still) its furthest point, for three days, until the light returns, on Christmas day.
A gentle but strengthening and grounding class to heal and soothe but bringing energy and vitality. The Sun (Ha) is still in Scorpio, so we continue to focus on the hidden areas deep within as retreat within to prepare for the darker, winter days. Shining a light on these areas helps to bring out what is hidden and so allow us to transform.
A relaxing but invigorating and strengthening class to heal, ground and balance, so releasing stress and tension, to leave us feeling energised and secure. The Sun (Ha) moves into Libra exactly at the point of the autumnal equinox. Libra is about balance and at the equinox, when the days and nights are of equal length, we find our inner equilibrium to prepare us to go inwards. The Moon (Tha) is first in Aries, ruling the head, brain, and so the mind, which isn't in the head but in the whole body, corresponding to the muscles in the mind, body, spirit connection. The Moon then moves into Taurus ruling the neck that carries important information and finishes in Gemini, ruling the central nervous system.
A gentle but earthy and grounded class to release stress and tension, leaving us feeling energised but at the same time relaxed and peaceful. The Sun (Ha) is in Virgo, ruling the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system. So, this is focusing on the way stress affects us in our body, the fight or flight response and how our breathing can help this. Also, how holding onto issues can be detrimental, we need to learn to let go. The Moon (Tha) is first in Aries, ruling the mind and muscles. When we are relaxed in our mind we are relaxed in our body and vice versa. The Moon then moves into Taurus ruling the neck that carries important information, finishing in Gemini, ruling the central nervous system and the nerves.
A gentle, relaxing class to heal, soothe, ground and balance, so releasing stress and tension, to leave us feeling energised. The Sun (Ha) is now in watery Cancer, ruling the feminine, watery, nurturing areas of the breasts, breastbone and the digestive system, the stomach and the womb. The Moon (Tha) starts off in Aries which rules the head, the brain, the eyes and the muscles. If the mind is tense, so are our muscles and vice versa. Then into Taurus, ruling the neck, throat, tongue, lower jaw, chin, the tonsils, vocal cords, larynx, the ears and the thyroid, and finally into Gemini, ruling the shoulders, arms, hands, lungs, central nervous system and the nerves.
We can release all that no longer works for us, by the stretching, strengthening and grounding of our practice. The Sun (Ha) is in earthy Taurus, which rules the neck, the junction between the head and the body, carrying so much vital information in the jugular, the trachea and the central nervous system. Problems with the neck indicate being too much in your head or too much in the body, and we need to find the balance here. Taurus is about being grounded and so feeling safe and secure as a result. The Moon finishes by being in Taurus ready for the Taurus new moon and new beginnings.
A gentle but strengthening and grounding class to heal and soothe, releasing stress but energetically giving a boost too. This is the last session of the year with the Sun (Ha) in Aries, ruling, among other things, the head and the muscles. As we’ve mentioned before, if the mind is tense, so are our muscles and vice versa. We may feel things more emotionally in certain areas when the Moon is in their sign, but these emotions can change just as the Moon changes sign every few days. This week the moon begins in Taurus, moving through Gemini and Cancer and finishing in Leo.
The Sun (Ha) is in fiery Aries. Aries rules the head, the brain, the eyes and the muscles. Yoga is good for all the muscles, but you can focus on specific areas of need too. The Moon (Tha) starts off just in Aquarius, so focusing on the circulatory system, before moving into Pisces. Pisces rules the feet and the immune system. We can feel quite ungrounded at this time, so it's important to focus on the feet. Next, the Moon moves into Aries, to prepare for the Aries new moon, ruling the head, brain, eyes, muscles again, feeling this all doubly, emotionally too, and so the mind. The Moon then finishes by being in Taurus briefly, ruling the neck and throat particularly. We can release all that no longer works for us, by the stretching, strengthening and grounding of our practice.
A gentle but strengthening and grounding class to heal and soothe, releasing stress and boosting the immune system. The last session with the Sun (Ha) in watery Pisces. Pisces rules the feet, and it is important to keep them firmly on the ground while still allowing ourselves to dream. The Sun then moves into Aries which rules the muscles. If the mind is tense, so are our muscles and vice versa.
The last session with the Sun (Ha) in airy Aquarius. Aquarius rules the lower leg: the shin, where the bone, representing our deep, core spiritual beliefs, is close to the surface and can feel so vulnerable as we step forward, pushing our beliefs out there. The calf behind is made of soft tissue that represents our mind, which hopefully offers energy and support to our beliefs. Aquarius also rules the ankles, which we can easily turn when we are not feeling supported, either emotionally or in our outer world. The Sun then moves into Pisces, ruling the feet and the immune system. We can feel quite ungrounded at this time, so it is important to focus on the feet, keeping them firmly on the ground, while still allowing ourselves to dream in grounded reality, to make it happen.
A full session starting with lying down and connecting with the breath, easing into floor asanas, a grounded sun salutation, pranayama and asanas to extend, balance, twist, side bend and inversion. Finishing with a relaxing, elemental meditation and visualisation. Working with the Sun (Ha) in Sagittarius, a fire sign that now gives us the energy to travel and move forwards after the introspection of Scorpio, whether that be inwardly and spiritually or outwardly physically. Sagittarius rules the hips, which decide our direction, the thighs that give us the power to move, the femur which is the structure that holds us together to move, the pelvis and sacral region where we store a lot of energy or trauma that is released when we open the hips and, finally, the liver, reached through the inner thigh from where we release toxins. The Moon (Tha) is first of all in Aries, working with the head, brain, eyes and muscles. Interestingly, in the mind, body, spirit connection, the muscles correspond to the mind, meaning it is all over the body. If you relax your mind, it relaxes your muscles and vice versa. The Moon then goes into Taurus when we work with the areas Taurus rules - the neck that carries so much vital information, the throat, the lower jaw, the chin, the tongue, the tonsils, the larynx and vocal cords and the thyroid gland. Lastly, the Moon moves into Gemini to prepare for the full moon on Monday. Gemini rules the shoulders, arms, hands, fingers, the central nervous system, the nerves and the lungs, from where we let go. We work here to release tension as we shoulder our responsibilities, staying grounded and so finding ways to combat fatigue as things build emotionally.
A full session starting with a relaxing connection to the breath and the body. Working with asanas for the Sun (Ha) in Libra, finding our inner equilibrium to prepare to go inwards for the winter, balancing energy in the adrenal glands and kidneys, releasing stress and fear and strengthening the lower back to feal safe and secure. The Moon is building to be full in Aries, so we combat fatigue that can come with this, working with the head, brain, eyes and muscles, which correspond to the mind in the mind, body, spirit connection. The Moon then moves into Taurus, so we release tension from the neck and throat, plus the lower jaw, chin, larynx/vocal cords and stimulate the metabolism via the thyroid gland. We do the Nadi Shodana (alternate nostril) pranayama to find inner balance and peace and finish with a healing meditation and visualisation.
A full session with a relaxing beginning, pranayama, asanas/postures and closing with a relaxing meditation and visualisation. Sun (Ha) in Cancer works with the stomach, digestive system, breasts, breastbone, womb and maybe pancreas. Moon (Tha) in Taurus works with the throat, neck, chin, lower jaw, larynx and vocal cords and the thyroid gland. Moon in Gemini works with the shoulders, arms, hands, nerves, central nervous system and the lungs.
A gentle session with the Sun (Ha) in Gemini, so working with the shoulders, arms, hands, central nervous system, nerves and lungs. Plus the Moon (Tha) in Taurus so working with the neck, throat, chin, jaw, tongue, larynx, vocal cords and thyroid gland. Pranayama, a gentle sun salutation, postures/asanas with a relaxing meditation and visualisation to close.
