A full but gentle session starting with lying down and connecting with the breath, easing into floor asanas, a grounded sun salutation, pranayama and asanas to extend, balance, twist, side bend and inversion. Finishing with a relaxing, elemental meditation and visualisation. The Sun (Ha) is now in Capricorn, an earth sign, ruled by Saturn. Saturn is about structure and Capricorn rules the bones, our skeletal frame that is our structure, corresponding to our deep core spiritual beliefs that hold us up. Capricorn also rules the joints, where the bones meet, especially the knees, which is about our flexibility, particularly emotionally. Capricorn's symbol is the goat, but with a fish's tail, so more sensitive than realised. All yoga is good for the bones and joints but we have our awareness being mindful of them particularly here. We start with the Moon (Tha) in Gemini, which rules the arms, shoulders, lungs, central nervous system and nerves. We then move to the Moon in Cancer, to prepare for the full moon, working with the stomach, digestive system and womb, to self-nurture. We do some work with the Moon in Leo, for the heart, upper back, spine and spleen. Finally come to the Moon in Virgo, working with the large and small intestines and the sympathetic nervous system. We always work with being grounded but particularly in this session.
